What 2027 means
What does 2027 mean for your vision board?
In numerology, 2027 is an 11/2 year, and on February 6 the Chinese calendar starts the Year of the Fire Goat. Both point the same way: less going it alone, more togetherness, more patience and a closer ear to your own intuition.
11/2
Numerology: an 11/2 year
2 + 0 + 2 + 7 adds up to 11, the master number of intuition. Reduced further, it becomes 2: partnership, cooperation, patience. 2026 was a 1 year, a year for bold starts. 2027 is about letting what you started grow, ideally alongside other people.
🐐
The Year of the Fire Goat
It begins with Lunar New Year on February 6, 2027 and runs until January 25, 2028. In the Chinese zodiac the Goat stands for care, creativity and a peaceful home. Fire adds warmth and drive. A good picture for a board that's gentle and still wants something.
🌑
The sky in 2027
2027 has 13 new moons, so 13 natural fresh starts, beginning on January 7. On February 6, a new moon and Lunar New Year fall on the same day. And August gets two new moons, on August 2 and August 31.
The six areas of the 2027 vision board
Our 2027 template splits your year into six areas, each tuned to a 2 year: less pressure, more rhythm and more people around you.

Vitality: Your body is the ground everything else grows from. In 2027, rhythm counts for more than intensity: enough sleep, good food, movement you still enjoy in November.
Abundance: Money that grows calmly. A savings goal you move a little closer every month, and a life that feels secure instead of stretched.
Connection: The heart of the year. Family, friends, love: who do you want to see more of in 2027, and whose table do you want to stay at a little longer?
Purpose: Your work and what it changes. In a 2 year, a lot gets built in teams. Picture what you're creating, and who you're creating it with.
Evolution: The 11 makes 2027 a year of intuition. This is where inner growth goes: a book, a new language, quiet mornings with your journal.
Adventure: Travel, play, last-minute weekends. The best cure for too much patience is a place you've never been, ideally with someone you like.
Numerology
What is my personal year number for 2027?
Add the digits of your birth day and birth month to 2 + 0 + 2 + 7, then reduce the sum to a single digit, keeping 11 and 22 as they are. The result is your personal year for 2027 and a hint at which area can take the lead on your board.
An example: your birthday is March 14. 1 + 4 + 3 + 2 + 0 + 2 + 7 makes 19, which becomes 1 + 9 = 10 and finally 1. Your 2027 is a personal 1 year, a year for new beginnings.
Treat the number as a question to yourself. If it fits, give that area more space on your board. If it doesn't, you've still learned something: what actually matters to you in 2027.
Pick the day and month you were born.
No birth year needed. The math runs in your browser and nothing is saved.
| Year | Theme | Board focus |
|---|---|---|
| 1 | New beginnings, courage | One big goal in the center, the one you haven't dared to go for yet |
| 2 | Patience, partnership | Relationships, shared plans, time together |
| 3 | Expression, joy | Creative projects, being seen, more lightness |
| 4 | Foundations, order | Routines, finances, a home that holds you |
| 5 | Change, freedom | Travel, a move, trying something completely new |
| 6 | Care, responsibility | Family, health, your home |
| 7 | Reflection, knowledge | Learning, quiet, spirituality |
| 8 | Abundance, success | Career, income, a bold professional move |
| 9 | Completion, letting go | Clearing out, closing chapters, making room |
| 11 | Intuition, calling | Your inner voice and what's really calling you |
| 22 | Building something big | A life project, planned step by step |
Numerology is a tradition, not a science. Use the number as a prompt for your board. What your year becomes is up to you.
Template
Is there a 2027 vision board template?
Yes: our 2027 template has six areas tuned to the 11/2 year, each with image ideas and a short description. In the VISIYA app it's part of Premium, and the printable PDF is free.
A blank page is the most common reason a vision board never gets finished. The template gets you past it: the areas are set, each comes with image suggestions, and all you decide is what fits you.
In the app, the template opens already filled with pictures. You swap what doesn't feel right, add your own photos and write your affirmations. Premium in VISIYA is a one-time purchase with no subscription. If you'd rather not pay anything, set up your own board with the same six areas: one board in VISIYA is always free.
Print the PDF and fill the boxes with magazine cutouts or your own photos. There's more on the 2027 template page.
The template's six areas
Vitality
Your body and mind are the ground everything else grows from. In a "2" year, vitality is rhythm over intensity — steady rest, nourishment and gentle movement that make your energy last all year.
Abundance
Financial freedom, assets and security. A "2" year rewards patience and steady building over the big leap — picture savings that compound, shared goals, and a lifestyle that feels calm and secure, not stretched.
Connection
The heart of a "2" year. Your circle — family, friends and romance — is where 2027's magic lives. Picture the relationships you want to deepen and the love you both give and receive.
Purpose
Your work, mission and impact. In a "2" year, purpose is built through collaboration — partners, teams, mentors. Visualise what you're creating and who you're creating it with.
Evolution
Personal growth, intuition and inner alignment. The master number 11 makes 2027 deeply intuitive — the year to trust your gut, feel more, and grow in emotional and spiritual depth.
Adventure
Play, travel and experiences — ideally shared. Balance the steady building of a "2" year with joy and spontaneity. Picture the places you'll go and the moments you'll remember.

Step by step
How do I make a 2027 vision board on my iPhone?
Download VISIYA, pick your areas of life and your first pictures, and the app turns them into a board right away. Then add your own photos and affirmations, and put the board where you'll see it daily, as a widget or as your wallpaper.
For every area of your life
One board for your whole life
A single collage for everything gets crowded fast. In VISIYA, each part of your life has its own area with its own pictures, notes and affirmations. You see at a glance where you want 2027 to go, and which area is getting left behind.
- Travel
- Health
- Love & family
- Home
- Self-care
- Career & abundance

Choose your areas, tap your first pictures
Tell the app what matters to you in 2027, say health and love. Then tap the pictures that feel right. Or start straight from the 2027 template.

Your board is ready instantly
No blank page. Your picks become a finished board on the spot, and you only change what doesn't fit.

Add your own photos, notes and links
Search more than a million images, pick photos from your library or take one with the camera. Notes, links, colors and stickers go on the board too.

An affirmation every day
Over 3,000 affirmations in categories like Manifestation or Positive Mindset. A new one appears each day, and the lines that hit home go on your board.

A short reminder each morning
If you like, VISIYA reminds you about your board once a day. A quick look over your first coffee is enough, and you can turn the reminder off anytime.

Your board as your wallpaper
Pick a layout, shuffle the pictures and preview how your lock screen or home screen will look. The preview is free; saving it is part of Premium.
On iPad too
VISIYA runs on iPhone and iPad. On the big screen you see every area side by side, which is lovely for a slow Sunday afternoon spent planning your year.

Prefer paper?
You don't need much: a corkboard or sturdy poster board, a few magazines, scissors, glue and pens. The steps are the same as in the app. Areas first, then pictures, then one line per area.
Our step-by-step guide walks you through it, and our supplies list for a paper vision board shows what to buy.

See it every day
How often should you look at your vision board?
Every day, ideally at the same time and only briefly. A board you no longer notice can't remind you of anything, so put it where your eyes already go.
Most vision boards don't fail because of the pictures. They hang in a hallway, and two weeks later nobody sees them anymore. That happened to my first board, and it's the reason VISIYA exists.
You pick up your phone dozens of times a day. When your board shows up there, on your home screen, on your lock screen or in a morning reminder, it stays present without you having to remember it.
🔥 Your streak keeps count
The Home screen shows how many days in a row you've looked at your board. The number nudges you quietly. And if it ever drops back to one, you simply start again the next morning.

The home screen widget
The widget shows your board every time you unlock your iPhone. Free with the first picture of your board; with Premium it cycles through all your pictures.
Your board as your wallpaper
Turn your board into a collage for your lock screen or home screen, in layouts like Hero + 6, 2 × 3 or Mosaic. Try the preview for free; saving is part of Premium.
One picture at a time
Tap an element and it opens full size, with your note or affirmation underneath. One goal, one moment. It's calmer than skimming thirty pictures at once, and it leaves room for the question that matters: what's my next step?
2027 moon calendar
When is the best time to make a 2027 vision board?
Between new moon and full moon, while the moon is waxing, and ideally in the first few days after the new moon. 2027 has 13 of these windows, and the first one opens on January 7.
Many traditions treat the new moon as a time for beginnings and the waxing moon as a time for growth. Whether or not you believe that, a fixed date helps you actually start instead of pushing it back week after week.
Below you'll find the new moon and full moon for every month of 2027, with the window in between. Three dates stand out: February 6, with a new moon, a solar eclipse and Lunar New Year; August 2, with the total solar eclipse; and August 31, the second new moon in a single month.
Missed a window? Take the next one. Every new moon is also a good moment to go through an existing board and swap out a picture or two.

Astrology 2027
What are the major astrological events of 2027?
2027 brings five eclipses, including a total solar eclipse in August, plus the four turning points of the seasons. Use them as fixed dates through the year to check in with your board.
You don't have to believe in astrology to get something out of these dates. A board you make in January and never look at again has nothing to do with you by June. The sky's calendar gives you reasons to pause, spread across the year.
Each event comes with a board prompt: a question or a small task that takes about five minutes.
· NASA
Annular solar eclipse
It falls on the same day as a new moon and Lunar New Year. The moon slides in front of the sun but leaves a bright ring around the edge.
One goal you're starting from scratch in 2027. Give it the biggest spot on your board.
· NASA
Penumbral lunar eclipse
The full moon grazes Earth's outer shadow and dims only slightly. Most people won't notice it.
What can go? Take down one picture that no longer feels like you.
· USNO
March equinox
Day and night are about equal and spring begins in the Northern Hemisphere. The first quarter is done.
Quarterly check: which area hasn't had a single step since January?
· USNO
June solstice
The longest day of the year in the north. Halftime for 2027.
What on your board has already happened? Mark it and let yourself enjoy it.
· NASA
Penumbral lunar eclipse
Another quiet eclipse at full moon, barely visible.
Who on your board haven't you told in a while how much they matter?
· NASA
Total solar eclipse
The path of totality crosses southern Spain, Morocco and Egypt. Never look at the sun without eclipse glasses. In manifestation circles it falls in the season known as the Lion's Gate.
The boldest picture on your board: what's one step toward it that scares you a little?
· NASA
Penumbral lunar eclipse
The third and last lunar eclipse of the year, again only a penumbral one.
What have you learned since January that deserves a place on your board?
· USNO
September equinox
Day and night are about equal again. Harvest time.
Harvest: what have you achieved in 2027? Write down three things, small ones included.
· USNO
December solstice
The longest night of the year. A good evening to look back at your 2027 board before you start the next one.
Look at your board one last time and decide what comes with you onto your 2028 board.
Jupiter and Saturn in 2027
Jupiter in Leo, moving into Virgo in late July
In Western astrology, Jupiter is in Leo, the sign of self-expression and being seen, until late July. Then it moves into Virgo, which stands for order, health and everyday life. Board prompt: in the first half of the year, add something you want to be seen for; in the second, a routine you want to keep.
Saturn in Aries all year
Saturn moved into Aries in February 2026 and stays there until 2028. It's linked with responsibility and staying power, Aries with courage and beginnings. Board prompt: a goal that will take more than a year. Write down the first step you'll take toward it in 2027.
Eclipses and seasons are astronomical events. Their meaning, and the signs of the planets, come from astrology and are offered as prompts for reflection, not predictions. Planet positions from the 2027 ingress calendar.

New Year rituals
Which New Year rituals help you make your 2027 vision board?
The most popular one is a vision board party: a few friends, a stack of magazines or your phones, and an evening to picture the year together. If you'd rather keep it quiet, the Twelve Holy Nights give you one evening for each month of 2027.
A vision board party works best in the first days of January, or on a cozy evening between Christmas and New Year's. Everyone makes their own board, but the conversation is the point. Saying your goals out loud to people who will ask about them in March makes them harder to forget.
Plan about two hours. Ask everyone to think of three to six areas of life before they arrive, so nobody spends the evening staring at a blank page. Magazines, scissors and glue work, and so do phones: in VISIYA you can share a board with friends and build it together. More ideas for themes, food and the evening itself are in our vision board party guide.
Prefer something quieter? The Twelve Holy Nights are an old custom from Germany and the Alps for the days between Christmas and January 6. Each night stands for one month of the new year, so after twelve evenings your board is complete. Our Twelve Holy Nights guide walks you through every night.
How to host a vision board party
- Invite three to eight friends and pick a date in late December or early January. Ask everyone to bring a few magazines or old photos, or just their phone.
- Set the scene: a big table, snacks, something to drink and a playlist. Put out scissors, glue sticks, markers and a poster board for everyone.
- Start with a short round: what was good about 2026, and what should 2027 feel like? Ten minutes is enough.
- Give everyone an hour to make their board. Using VISIYA? Share one board with your friends and add pictures to it together.
- Finish with a show-and-tell: everyone presents their board and one first step for January. Take a photo of every board.

Ideas
What should I put on my 2027 vision board?
Three to seven pictures per area of life that show how your goal feels, plus a short line and one word for the whole year. What matters is that every picture makes you feel something when you look at it.
A picture of a new car says very little. A picture of an open road in evening light reminds you what you're really after: freedom. Look for the feeling behind the goal and you'll find better pictures.
The ideas below are starting points for the template's six areas. Take what fits and leave the rest. For many more, see our post with vision board examples.

- A race distance you want to run by fall 2027
- Your breakfast on a good day
- A bedroom where the lights go out at 10:30
- A yoga mat in morning light
- A water bottle that's empty by evening
- A walk without your phone
Abundance
- The balance in your savings account in December 2027
- Three months of emergency savings

Connection
- A table full of people you love
- A standing date night every week
- A letter to an old friend
- A photo of your grandma, to call her more often
- A weekend with just your best friend
- A pet waiting for you at home
Purpose
- The project you finally finish in 2027
- A mentor you want to learn from
- A team that makes the work feel light
- Your name on a contract or a stage
- Evenings that really start at 6 p.m.
- A course that makes you curious
Evolution
- A stack of books for 2027
- Ten quiet minutes every morning
- A language you can order dinner in on vacation
- A journal you actually fill
- A sentence you want your inner voice to say more often
- A retreat, or one day entirely for yourself
Adventure
- A place you've never been
- A passport with a new stamp
- A spontaneous road trip with friends
- A festival or a concert
- A hobby you loved as a kid
- A sunrise by the ocean
- A night under the stars

- Calm
- Grow
- Close

Does it work?
Do vision boards actually work?
A board that only shows the dream does little, and research suggests pure positive fantasy can even drain your energy. What's well supported is pairing the goal with the obstacles in your way and a concrete if-then plan.
Honestly, a vision board isn't magic. Psychologist Gabriele Oettingen found that people who only picture their future in glowing terms often achieve less. Your brain gets to enjoy the goal before you've done anything for it.
What works is a combination. You picture the goal, name honestly what stands in the way, and decide what you'll do when exactly that happens. Researchers call these if-then plans implementation intentions, and they're among the best-studied tools in motivation science.
For your board, that means writing one next step for each area and one line in the form "If…, then…". For example: "If I'm too tired to run after work, I'll go for a ten-minute walk." In VISIYA, a line like that fits in the note under a picture, so you see it every time you open the element.
94
independent tests went into a meta-analysis of if-then plans. The effect on reaching goals was medium to large (d = 0.65).
WOOP
WOOP stands for Wish, Outcome, Obstacle, Plan. Psychologist Gabriele Oettingen's method links the picture of what you want with what's in the way and an if-then plan.
4
experiments found that people who fantasized only positively about the future had less energy afterward, measured by blood pressure among other things. Pictures alone aren't enough.
Books
Which books go well with a vision board?
Six personal development classics that each say, in their own way, what a board needs: a clear picture of the goal, a daily look at it and a next step. Only one of them talks about vision boards by name.
We link to the publishers and authors, not to an online store. Buy the books wherever you like, ideally at your local bookshop.
The Miracle Morning
Hal Elrod
Elrod's morning routine has six steps, and one of them is visualization: close your eyes or look at your vision board. See yourself doing today's work toward the goal. The goal on its own isn't enough for him.
See the book at BenBella Books →The High 5 Habit
Mel Robbins
Robbins explains how your brain filters what you even notice. She has little patience for boards that only show the result. Picture the hard parts too: the rejections and the days you don't feel like it.
See the book at Mel Robbins →Atomic Habits
James Clear
Clear doesn't write about vision boards, but he does explain why they can work. Every habit starts with a cue, so make the good ones obvious. A board on your lock screen is exactly that kind of cue.
See the book at James Clear →The 5AM Club
Robin Sharma
A story about the first hour of the day, split into move, reflect and grow. For Sharma, visualization belongs in that hour. A good moment to look at your board.
See the book at Robin Sharma →The 7 Habits of Highly Effective People
Stephen R. Covey
Habit 2 is “Begin with the end in mind.” For Covey, everything is created twice: first in your mind, then in reality. His tool is a personal mission statement, and a vision board is the picture version of it.
See the book at FranklinCovey →Think and Grow Rich
Napoleon Hill
The 1937 classic. Hill has you write down your goal, read it aloud twice a day and picture yourself already having it. His focus is money, but the method works for any area of your board.
See the book at Napoleon Hill Foundation →
Common mistakes
What are the most common vision board mistakes?
The big ones: putting too much on one board, wishes that really belong to someone else, and a board that hangs somewhere and goes unseen after two weeks. All of them are easy to avoid.
Everything on one board
Thirty goals with no order read like none at all. Split your board into areas and leave each one some space.
Someone else's wishes
What others expect of you won't carry you through a year. Ask of every picture: do I really want this?
A missing area
All career and no room for friends? Looking at all six areas shows you what's being neglected.
No first step
A picture without a plan stays a wish. Add one goal you can reach quickly, and reach it soon.
Hang it and forget it
In the hallway, it turns invisible within two weeks. Put it where you look every day.
Never updating it
Your board can change as you do. Look it over at every new moon and swap what no longer fits.

2027 vision board FAQ
When should I make my 2027 vision board?
Ideally while the moon is waxing, between new moon and full moon. Good start dates are the week between Christmas and New Year, the new moon on January 7, and February 6, when a new moon and Lunar New Year coincide. Starting later is fine: every new moon in 2027 is a good moment.
What should I put on a 2027 vision board?
Pictures for each area of life that matters to you in 2027, such as health, money, relationships, work, growth and travel. Add a line or an affirmation for each area, and a word for the whole year if you like. Choose pictures that show a feeling.
How many pictures should a vision board have?
Three to seven per area, around 20 to 40 in total. Fewer is often better: if you can't read a picture in a second, there's too much going on.
Where should I put my vision board?
Somewhere you look at on purpose every day, like next to your mirror or above your desk. A hallway works badly because you stop seeing it as you walk past. On your iPhone, use it as a widget or as your wallpaper.
Is a digital vision board better than a paper one?
Both work. Paper is lovely to make by hand; a digital board is always with you and changes in seconds. Many people do both: the paper board on the wall, the digital one on their phone. Here is everything you need for a paper board.
Can I use my vision board as my iPhone wallpaper?
Yes. In VISIYA you turn your board into a collage for your lock screen or home screen and choose the layout. The preview is free; saving it needs Premium, a one-time purchase with no subscription.
Do vision boards really work?
Only looking at the goal does little. What's well supported is pairing the goal with likely obstacles and an if-then plan. A board with a next step next to every picture, one you see daily, helps you stay with it.
What does 2027 mean in numerology?
2 + 0 + 2 + 7 adds up to 11, and 11 reduces to 2, so 2027 is an 11/2 year. The 11 stands for intuition, the 2 for partnership, cooperation and patience. You can work out your personal year number further up this page.
How do you host a vision board party?
Invite three to eight friends for an evening in late December or early January. Have everyone bring magazines or just their phone, start with a short round on what 2027 should feel like, give everyone an hour to make their board, and finish by sharing one first step each. In VISIYA you can also build one board together.
What Chinese zodiac year is 2027?
2027 is the Year of the Fire Goat. It begins with Lunar New Year on February 6, 2027 and ends on January 25, 2028.
Can I make a vision board on my iPhone?
Yes, with VISIYA for iPhone and iPad. Pick your areas of life and your pictures, and your board is ready in about a minute. One board is always free; the ready-made 2027 template is part of Premium.
How often should I update my vision board?
Look at it briefly every day and update it about once a month, for example at the new moon. Swap out pictures that no longer move you and mark what has already come true.
